The popularity of this track really BOOMED in 2021. I think it had something to do with the "closing", er policy change, of Tumblr. This was when the hype for a Newgrounds comeback was at an all time high. I'm also sure that the release of FNF had something to do with it.

Why this track in particular? No idea. It's s remix after all. But I'm grateful that it's still getting love 17 years in. In fact, in 2021 it became my most listened to track ever, jumping ahead of my Sonic Spinball remix from 2009. Crazy how time changes things
